The Audio Engineering Society (AES) is an internationally recognized branch of the only professional society devoted exclusively to audio. AES serves the public, its members, and the industry by researching the latest advances int he ever changing world of audio technology. Through membership, students realize the global impact of the industry and how contributions to the profession are made.
Belmont's chapter boasts some 50+ members majoring in Audio Engineering Technology or Music Business with an emphasis in Production. Campus events throughout the year include industry guest lectures, professional demonstrations, seminars, and team participation in an annual locally sponsored AES Spring Mixer Competition with area audio schools. Attendance at AES National Conventions in the U.S. and Europe are encouraged and provide rich educational opportunities that explore technical papers about current research, new concepts and applications, and of course provide the opportunity to see the most comprehensive exhibit of professional equipment in the world!
